Your Holiday Guide to Donating to Goodwill
’Tis the season of giving; a time when you might be looking for ways to support the causes that are meaningful to you. If Ohio Valley Goodwill is on your list of charitable organizations to support, we thank you! We want to make it simple to support our skills training and job placement services.
There are many ways to give to Goodwill, so let’s take a closer look at the ways to spread holiday cheer in the Greater Cincinnati area. Here’s your holiday guide to donating to Ohio Valley Goodwill!
Donate Gently-Used Household Items
From clothing to small appliances, you can donate many household items you no longer need to Goodwill. The process for donating is easy!
- Check this list of items we accept and those we regretfully cannot accept, then find the Goodwill Donation Center nearest you.
- Pack your items in cardboard boxes, trash bags, or other containers you have on hand, and drop them off during the center’s posted hours. In most cases, you can drive through without even getting out of your car!
- To take advantage of potential tax benefits, a Goodwill employee will provide you with a receipt for your records.
If you’re not able to transport the items you’d like to donate, don’t worry! Goodwill has partnerships with ReSupply for home pickup service and College Hunks Hauling Junk for the removal of donation items and other items Goodwill cannot accept.
Make a Financial Donation
If you don’t have items to donate but still want to support Ohio Valley Goodwill, you can choose to make a financial gift. You can do so online with just a few clicks!
You might also decide to make a planned gift, leaving a legacy that will certainly make a lasting difference for Ohio Valley Goodwill and the individuals we serve. A planned gift can provide immediate tax and income benefits and is easy to put in place. You can start the process with your financial planner, or simply give us a call.
Donate a Vehicle
Whether it’s a car, boat, truck, motorcycle or RV, your vehicle could make an impact. Making a vehicle donation is simple. You can start the process by completing an online form or giving us a call! We’ll even tow the vehicle for free.
