At Ohio Valley Goodwill, we’re dedicated to using donations from the community to change people’s lives in Cincinnati. We transform household goods, clothing, accessories, and even cars into revenue that supports job training and vocational services to individuals with disabilities and our nation’s veterans.
Every item you donate furthers our mission and helps people in your community find jobs, become more self-sufficient, and reach their full potential. If it’s been a while since your last Goodwill trip, here are some things to think about donating:
#1: Seasonal décor
The holidays are well behind us, and now is a great opportunity to ” undeck the halls” and declutter your seasonal decorations! From wreaths to ornaments to festive figurines, Ohio Valley Goodwill will gladly accept your decoration donations of any type.
#2: Winter coats
Spring is right around the corner, which means the weather will be warming up soon. When it does, shed your winter coats and donate them to Ohio Valley Goodwill. You’ll create more room in your closet for new spring outfits!
#3: Shoes
Too many shoes to choose from? Donate them to Goodwill! Maybe you’re holding onto 4-inch stilettos that you’ve never worn or a pair of sneakers that your child simply outgrew. It’s time to give them to Goodwill and give them a new life! Even if your shoes are worn out, don’t throw them in the trash. Goodwill can still recycle them!
#4: Jewelry
Is your jewelry box overflowing with necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, or rings that you no longer wear? Clean out your collection and donate your unwanted pieces to Goodwill. You’ll feel so much more organized when you streamline your selection of jewelry.
#5: Your old car
If you have a vehicle taking up extra space in your garage or driveway, donate it to Ohio Valley Goodwill! We accept donations of used cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, and boats! It doesn’t matter if your vehicle is running or not “” we can even tow your vehicle for FREE! When you’re ready to donate a car to Goodwill, fill out our online car donation form or drop off your car at one of our convenient designated drop sites.
What happens to the items you donate to Goodwill?
After donations are collected, Goodwill sorts and resells them in our network of retail stores and online at shopgoodwill.com. When people purchase these items, the revenue raised helps to fund job skills training and employment services for people living right here in the Greater Cincinnati community. Thanks to your generous donation support, Ohio Valley Goodwill is able to continue growing our programs, resulting in a positive social and economic impact for the entire community.
Furthermore, donating to Goodwill is good for the planet. Each year, Goodwill diverts millions of pounds of reusable materials and textiles from local landfills, promoting responsible recycling and sustainability.
