Upcycle an old wreath by removing everything but the foam or wire base. Then, decorate the wreath with red, white, and blue streamers or fabric, cut-out stars, faux flowers, or ribbons. You can often find plain or recyclable wreaths at Goodwill for less!

Tie-dye has always been a fun activity for kids, and DIY-dyed clothing is one of the biggest trends of 2020. Start by looking for white clothing at your local Goodwill store. T-shirts, shorts, sweatshirts, pants and even socks can be tie-dyed, as long as they are made with a cotton or cotton-blend material. Section off areas of each piece of clothing with rubber bands and apply red and blue dye to the sections, leaving some areas white. Cover the fabric with plastic wrap and let sit for about six hours. Rinse the fabric with water, then run through the washing machine and dryer. Don’t have time to tie-dye? Patriotic picnic

Serve up smiles at your Fourth of July picnic with all things red, white, and blue! First, you’ll need a big blanket to lay on the ground. Then, look for a basket to carry your food, drinks, and serving ware to your destination.

You can express your patriotic spirit by looking for red, white or blue dishes, glasses, and cloth napkins. One idea is to paint the outside of glass jars and tie ribbons around the top for some festive flair. Use the jars to store snacks, salads, or drinks for your picnic.
