Ohio Valley Goodwill’s team of excited staff and community volunteers are busily getting ready for this year’s Thanksgiving Day Race event which takes place in just 3 days! For the 3rd year in a row, Goodwill is sponsoring Donation Stations both at the start of the Race and at Mile 2, which will provide a place for racers to donate their winter wear to benefit others in the Greater Cincinnati area. This year’s theme of “Celebrate Cincinnati” will be perfect in tandem with Goodwill’s message of “and Our Spirit of Giving!” Goodwill Donation station organizers Krysta Ryan, Sharon Hannon and Eric Scott are all elated at the enthusiastic support of this year’s efforts by both staff volunteers as well as community members. This year’s effort will welcome more than 40 volunteers at the two Donation Stations as well as members of “Team Goodwill” that participate in the Race itself. “We could not be more pleased and excited about all of the hard work everyone is doing to support Goodwill and our mission this year,” said Krysta Ryan, Co-Coordinator. The forecast for this year’s Race is 60 degrees and sunny so Goodwill is confident that race participants will be more than eager to share their Spirit of Giving this year as they toss unneeded items into the donation barrels. Racers will also be greeted by hand-made signs cheering them on, noise-makers and even celebrity guest musicians Mark Macomber and Michael Flannery as they run past the Mile 2 Donation Station. To join in the fun of this year’s exciting Thanksgiving Day Race, you can still register at www.thanksgivingdayrace.com or show up on Thanksgiving morning at 9 am. Stay tuned for highlights of this year’s great event and our thanks to the Greater Cincinnati community for their on-going support of Goodwill’s mission of putting people to work.
