Team Goodwill Joins Hamilton County DD Services in Celebrating Success of 2019 Levy!

Vote for issue 21 and support Ohio Valley Goodwill

Eddie Morgan with Alice Pavey, HCDDS Superintendent

Team Goodwill was elated to learn that the 2019 Levy in support of long-time partner Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities was passed by an astounding 76% approval in last night’s critical election. The vital operating levy provides more than 75% of the funding needed for HCDDS to provide services for people with Developmental Disabilities in the Hamilton County community. The 2019 Levy was a renewal and will not increase taxes and is only on the ballot every five years. From the very beginning, Ohio Valley Goodwill has been an enthusiastic partner in supporting this year’s campaign beginning with athletes carrying handmade signs in the PigAbilities event; an inclusive opportunity for athletes of all abilities to be part of the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon; to a Facebook Live interview with Campaign Coordinator Ryan Braun at the organization’s signature Golf Outing in June. Team Goodwill testified in front the Hamilton County Tax Levy Review Committee during the summer and the organization served as the HQ for the yard sign assembly and distribution effort. Team members were featured on Facebook Live broadcasts almost weekly sharing their personal stories as well as urging support for the important levy and social media served as an important means to get the word out. Finally, Team Goodwill sponsored three different Honk and Waves the day before the election and on Election Day showed up at the polls to urge voters to support Issue 21. Our most sincere congratulations to Hamilton County DD Services on running a very positive and successful Levy campaign and to Team Goodwill for their hard work in support. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, more than 8000 citizens with Developmental Disabilities in Hamilton County will continue to receive the vital services needed to help them to live, work and play in the community and to achieve personal success.
