Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries was delighted to have newly elected State Representative Denise Driehaus (at left in photo) visit the organization for a tour of the facility on Friday, March 13, 2009. President and CEO, Joe Byrum (pictured at right in photo) provided the Representative with an inclusive tour of the organization’s vocational training programs, service programs, and the dormitory facility which provides temporary housing and support services for homeless veterans. Representative Driehaus is a first-term State Representative for the 31st District. During the tour, the Representative also was able to visit Goodwill’s production facility which receives all of the donations that are made throughout the Greater Cincinnati area and to see first-hand how these contributions are prepared for sale in Goodwill stores. The Representative was impressed with how Goodwill contributes to the overall recycling process and its effective way of utilizing all of the donations it receives. ” We certainly appreciate the support and interest that we receive from the legislative community and we always look forward to having Representatives visit our facility. It’s a very positive step when we can have them tour Goodwill and learn about our mission of putting people to work,” said Joe Byrum, CEO.
