Our commitment is to enrich Greater Cincinnati through programs which focus on the most vulnerable members of our community. Goodwill works with the local Continuum of Care under the Housing and Urban Development housing program. Housing assistance is available through HUD’s Rapid Re-housing project. Assistance is available with case management services and rental assistance. Ohio Valley Goodwill works with several Housing and Urban Development programs. Temporary housing assistance is available through HUD’s Rapid Re-housing projects. Assistance is also available to assist homeless persons with disabilities in finding permanent housing.

Goodwill Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Assistance funding offers short-term rental assistance through a re-housing grant for homeless individuals/families. This program operates on a referral basis only from the Local Continuum of Care, Strategies to End Homelessness. To access this program; please call 513-381-7233. The primary purpose of the Hamilton County’s Rapid Re-housing Assistance Project is to aid eligible individuals in obtaining safe and affordable housing.

The following services are provided under the Rapid Re-housing project:

  • Assessment of individual’s housing needs, preferences, and ability to afford housing.
  • Individually focused money and time management training, community living training, health care training, problem-solving instruction, home maintenance training, home safety lessons and nutritional guidance.
  • Identification and assistance contacting other needed community services.
  • Limited financial help with rent and utilities for eligible individuals.

Goodwill is proud to participate in Cincinnati’s Homeless Veterans Reintegration Projects (HVRP). Assistance is available for career planning, job placement, and finding housing. Case management services, counseling, transportation, clothing and child-care assistance are available for those who qualify. Funders for Homeless Veterans programs include the Department of Labor and the Veterans Administration.

All services include:

  • A comprehensive individual needs assessment
  • A personalized plan that will address the veteran’s employment history and needs
  • A case manager who will assist the veteran with job development and placement
  • Assistance in locating safe and affordable housing

The Homeless Veterans Reintegration Projects (HVRP) are employment-driven Department of Labor funded programs designed to provide the supports and assistance needed for eligible veterans to obtain employment, housing assistance and economic stability. Each veteran is assigned a case manager who provides assistance in all aspects of helping the veteran rejoin their community as a fully integrated member. Goodwill’s HVRP services are available throughout the greater Cincinnati and Southeast Indiana areas, as well as in Adams, Brown, and Clermont counties in rural Ohio.
