Along with a coalition of numerous human service organizations in the Greater Cincinnati community, Ohio Valley Goodwill is busy planning for the official celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (known as the ADA) on Monday, July 27th in downtown Cincinnati.
A group of human service agencies and advocates all across the Greater Cincinnati community are all working together on finalizing all aspects of the day-long event which will take place beginning with a march from City Hall followed by a formal program on Fountain Square.
The ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general community. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
As the largest provider of employment and skill training services in Southwest Ohio for individuals with disabilities, Ohio Valley Goodwill is proud to be on the planning committee for this milestone celebration as well as a sponsor of the upcoming event.
Watch for a formal sponsorship invitation and updates about the ADA 25 celebration beginning in February and mark your calendars for Monday, July 27th from 11 am until 1 pm on Fountain Square. “Like” the ADA25 Facebook page at http://www.adaanniversary.org/ to receive regular updates about plans for the big event.
