As has been become part of its annual holiday celebration, the season started early at Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries with the annual Thanksgiving luncheon on Tuesday, November 20th. Sponsored by the organization’s Volunteer Service Guild, the Thanksgiving-themed luncheon is held each year in honor of Goodwill’s program participants and staff team in partnership with the organization’s Food Service training program. “It’s always a pleasure to see how important the Thanksgiving luncheon is to everyone at Goodwill and we are delighted to be a part of such a wonderful event,” said JoAn Armour, Guild Member. Preparations for the lavish holiday luncheon start days before in the Goodwill’s food service training kitchen under the direction of Chef Alison McElfresh. ” Our Goodwill Training Services team work together to make the more than 700 meals very special for everyone to enjoy,” said Chef Alison. The menu for the day includes traditional turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and butter, cranberry sauce and of course, an assortment of freshly baked pies for dessert. The annual Thanksgiving luncheon marks the start of the Holiday season at Ohio Valley Goodwill and has been sponsored by its Volunter Service Guild for many years. In this season of giving, Ohio Valley Goodwill is grateful to our Volunteer Service Guild for its generous support of the individuals we serve as well as its staff team members.
