Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Veterans Services team members, Shane Satterfield, Matt Consolo, and Christie Watts, spent the morning of Saturday, November 9th stretching their legs in support of the 1st annual DAV (Disabled American Veterans) 5K Run in downtown Cincinnati. The group joined more than 3000 other runners in support of this first-ever race to benefit veterans with disabilities in the Greater Cincinnati area. The opportunity to participate in the Race was appealing to the Goodwill team because they work with our nation’s veterans through the organization’s extensive support services for our military men and women and their families. The DAV race course started at Sawyer Point Park and proceeded through downtown Cincinnati passing by iconic landmarks like the Underground Freedom Center, Paul Brown Stadium and the Banks development along the riverfront. “It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning with my fellow veterans,” said Shane Satterfield. The winning time for the Goodwill team was attained by Christie Watts who completed the course in 34 minutes. Ohio Valley Goodwill congratulates Shane, Christie and Matt on their outstanding support of this important new community event to benefit our nation’s veterans.
