Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Lebanon Store Welcomes State Senator Steve Wilson!

L to R: Sharon Hannon, Marketing Director, Senator Steve Wilson and Lisa Schneider, Asst. Director of DD Services.

Ohio Valley Goodwill was pleased to welcome State Senator Steve Wilson to its Lebanon store location on Wednesday, August 22nd for a tour and visit with its team members. The Senator’s visit was a follow-up to the Ohio Statehouse Day event held in May of this year through the Ohio Association of Goodwill Industries. The Senator represents the 7th District which includes Butler, Hamilton and Warren counties. This is Senator Wilson’s first term in the Ohio Senate and the Ohio Valley Goodwill team wanted to provide him with information about its critical programs and services for constituents in his district.

A comprehensive tour was provided by the Goodwill team including the opportunity for the Senator to meet and speak with program participants served in partnership with the Warren County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Senator Wilson was impressed with the Lebanon store and the organization’s vocational training opportunities provided but was also surprised to learn about the larger scope of Ohio Valley Goodwill’s services to the community. Last year alone, Goodwill served more than 3400 people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans and helped 917 to get jobs in the Greater Cincinnati area. A cordial invitation was extended to the Senator to schedule a future visit to the organization’s corporate headquarters to learn more about the many services provided to the individuals served by Ohio Valley Goodwill.

As a retired Naval officer and former CEO of LCNB National Bank, Senator Wilson remarked that one of his priorities is making our community a better place to live which includes a focus on  helping people get jobs. He was happy to hear about Goodwill’s  emphasis on job placement for our military veterans as well as for individuals served through our partnership with the County Board. Ohio Valley Goodwill is grateful to the Senator for taking the time to visit the organization’s Lebanon location and looks forward to working collaboratively with the Senator on legislative priorities for the individuals the organization serves in his district.
