With the official arrival of the Fall season, Goodwill’s social calendar is just a flurry of festive events that everyone can enjoy. To get things started properly, Goodwill’s volunteer group, its Service Guild will be hosting it’s annual Fall Mini-Fest on Friday, October 4th and 5th at the organization’s Tri-County store location. This old-fashioned festival welcomes guests to enjoy home-baked treats, shopping for collectible finds, a lunchtime Grill-out and more, all to raise funds for Goodwill’s mission of service. Saturday, October 5th will be a busy day as the organization will also be an exhibitor for the 2013 Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services Provider Fair being held at the new UCP campus on Drex Avenue. In partnership with Hamilton County DD Services, the following week, October 8th-11th, will mark a series of Open House events at Goodwill’s corporate headquarters as well as satellite locations throughout Greater Cincinnati. Everyone is invited to attend these Open House parties and enjoy tours of the locations, yummy snacks as well as educational videos. Interested visitors are asked to RSVP to Sharon Hannon, Marketing Specialist at Shannon@cincigoodwill.org if they wish to attend. Tuesday, October 8th will be the Open House for Goodwill’s Westwood location, Wednesday, October 9th Eastside, Thursday, October 10th Fairfield and finally, Friday, October 11th, the corporate headquarters in the village of Woodlawn. The flurry of Fall events continues with a CARA fund-raiser on Saturday, October 12th, called “Sip’Cinnati” which will feature a host of local wines and microbrews, fabulous music provided by local musicians Mark Macomber and Mike Mullee and the debut of celebrity guest bartender, Jamie Steele, Executive Director of Ohio Valley Residential Services. October 22nd will mark the occasion of the 2013 Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities Awards celebration and on October 24th, the 2013 Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities Provider Fair on the campus of Miami University in Hamilton. Goodwill is proud to be a sponsor and participant in both of these annual celebrations in support of its county board partners. Finally, on Saturday, November 16th, the organization looks forward to the 2013 “Dancing for our Stars,” celebration in support of long-time partner, the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities (BCBDD). Goodwill’s own Michael Johnson, Job Coach Supervisor, and partner Deb Gooch, will be performing their routine under the lights during this 3rd annual gala event. Ohio Valley Goodwill is a Gold Sponsor for the Dancing celebration and is eagerly looking forward to the big night!
