Thursday, May 15th marked the date for an Open House event held at Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Eastside Vocational Center located in Batavia, Ohio. Goodwill team members, Leslie McCurley, Asst. Director of DD Services, Lisa Schneider, Work Adjustment Manager and Paula Smith, Eastside Supervisor were pleased to welcome County Commissioner Edwin Humphrey, Batavia Township Administrator Rex Parsons as well as counselors from Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities and Clermont County Board DD Director, Dan Ottke to the Eastside location. The most recent in Goodwill satellite Vocational Centers, the precedent-setting location offers work training, personal enrichment as well as job placement assistance for individuals referred by both the Clermont and Hamilton Boards of Developmental Disabilities.
The Eastside Center is looking forward to expanding its service capacity in the coming months as the program continues to grow to meet the needs of individuals that reside in the area. “Since we opened our doors four years ago, we have continued to grow from a small group of participants to almost 40 individuals that have selected Ohio Valley Goodwill as their choice of employment and training agencies,” said Leslie McCurley, Asst. Director of DD Services. “We look forward to welcoming more individuals into our expanded program space in the future,” added McCurley. To schedule a tour of the Eastside Vocational Services Center, please contact Paula Smith, Supervisor, at (513) 732-0950, ext. 1 or email: psmith@cincigoodwill.org.
