Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Team was pleased to welcome Representative Adam Bird to its Eastside Vocational Services Center on Monday, May 16th for a tour of its programs and services. Representative Bird is serving his first term as an elected representative for the 66th Ohio House district which covers both Clermont and Brown counties. The Representative had not been familiar with the Goodwill mission and wanted to learn more about its programs and services for citizens with disabilities served in Clermont County.
Supervisor Paula Smith along with Marketing Director, Sharon Hannon, provided a tour and overview of the Eastside Vocational Services Center and long-time partnership with Clermont DD. “Goodwill was very happy that the Representative was able to come and tour our Eastside facility and learn more about the services we provide to citizens of Clermont County,” said Hannon following the Representative’s visit.
Goodwill’s Eastside Vocational Services Center currently serves approximately 50 individuals supported through both Clermont DD as well as Hamilton County DD Services and is one of several satellite centers which Ohio Valley Goodwill operates. Overall, the organization serves almost 3000 people annually and in 2021, assisted 920 to get jobs in the larger community. The Representative was very interested to learn that Ohio Valley Goodwill’s overall economic impact in 2021 was more than $63,000,000 when wages, taxes and governmental assistance saved are calculated.
Ohio Valley Goodwill is grateful to Representative Bird for taking the time to visit its Eastside Vocational Services Center and looks forward to working with the Representative in the future to support the citizens of Clermont County.
