Ohio Valley Goodwill was pleased to be the host location for the monthly meeting of the Cincinnati Human Services Chamber. The Human Services Chamber is a coalition of over 50 human services providers in Hamilton County, Ohio, which includes the City of Cincinnati and outer suburbs. The mission of the organization is to advocate for policies that are beneficial to their organizations and the clients they serve. Ohio Valley Goodwill has been a member of the Human Services Chamber since its beginnings and was honored to welcome the group to its corporate facility. Public Information Officer, Michael Flannery, is the official representative for Ohio Valley Goodwill to the Chamber and advocates on behalf of the populations served by the agency; specifically people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans.
The topic for the Human Services Chamber meeting held on October 10th was “Poverty in the Suburbs” and a panel of speakers were on hand to share their expertise about the issue. As a prominent long-time member of the Greater Cincinnati business community and provider of employment services, Ohio Valley Goodwill is well aware of the concerns shared by the presenters and is proud of its efforts to address the concerns by helping people to obtain jobs in the local area. Last year alone, Ohio Valley Goodwill helped more than 917 people to find community employment and assisted more than 3400 individuals through its programs and services.
Ohio Valley Goodwill thanks the Human Services Chamber for their dedication towards helping Greater Cincinnatians to improve their economic self-sufficiency and for visiting the organization on October 10th. To find out more about Ohio Valley Goodwill, visit http://www.cincinnatigoodwill.org/about
