Ohio Valley Goodwill Sponsor for Upcoming Fall Community Outreach Events!
The month of September is already looking like a very busy month for Ohio Valley Goodwill as the organization is a major sponsor for two important community outreach education events taking place that month. On September 15 and 16, Goodwill will be a Diamond Sponsor for the 2014 “Working Together Conference” which will be held at Great Wolf Lodge and on September 19th, will be a Gold Sponsor for the 2014 Transition Boot Camp taking place at the Sharonville Convention Center. Both events are designed to provide critical information about building successful futures for people with disabilities who reside in the Greater Cincinnati community.
The focus of the “Working Together” conference is about changing employment experiences for people with disabilities and is being hosted in partnership with the Hamilton, Butler, Clermont and Warren County Boards of Developmental Disabilities along with many other partner agencies. The conference will bring families, providers, county board staff and people with disabilities together to learn from national and state leaders in expanding employment options for people with disabilities. As a major sponsor, Ohio Valley Goodwill will not only be a participant in the two-day conference but will also be an exhibitor during the event sharing information about its programs and services with interested attendees.
The 2014 Transition Bootcamp is scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2014, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the beautiful Sharonville Convention Center. The Transition Boot Camp will be an intense one day event which will provide an overview of important transition topics, such as employment and post-secondary education, health care, housing, transportation, recreation, guardianship and estate planning and many more. There will also be a vendor fair from 11:00 am to 2:00pm and Ohio Valley Goodwill along with many other service provider agencies will be in attendance for this important community outreach and education opportunity. This year, the 2014 Transition Boot Camp has the generous support of our presenting sponsor, the Dr. Jack Rubinstein Foundation. The Rubinstein Foundation has made it possible to conduct the Transition Bootcamp at an exciting event location and provide food for our over 150 expected attendees. The Rubinstein Foundation will also make it possible to provide resource binders to attendees that will contain relevant resource materials.
Registration for both events will begin in July.
