Ohio Valley Goodwill’s corporate headquarters in the village of Woodlawn was the site for a visit from SourceAmerica’s Senior Leadership and Board of Directors on Thursday, August 2nd. SourceAmerica is a national nonprofit agency whose mission is to create employment opportunities for people with significant disabilities by securing Federal contracts through the AbilityOne Program for its network of community-based, nonprofit agencies.
Goodwill has four different Federal contracts through the AbilityOne program currently which include: the IRS Mailroom at the Federal Building as well as a Janitorial team; National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and also, at the Center for Disease Control (CDC) employing 33 individuals through those partnerships. Through Goodwill’s Community Services team, job coaching support and supervision is provided to these employees who earn an excellent paycheck and superior health and retirement benefits. “We are so grateful we are able to support these critical AbilityOne employment opportunities for these individuals, ” said Aimee Rittner, Asst. Director of Community Services. “The AbilityOne employees tell us all of the time how important these jobs are to them and how much they enjoy working at these Federal sites.”
