Ohio Valley Goodwill Participates in Cintas Green Fair in Recognition of "America Recycles Day"

Ohio Valley Goodwill was pleased to be a participating organization in the second annual Green Fair at Cintas on Friday, November 15, 2013 held at the company’s headquarters in Mason, OH. The second annual event took place in recognition of “America Recycles Day” and in addition to Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries other participating organizations included Cincinnati’s Green Umbrella, Building Value-Reuse & Rebuy, Matthew 25: Ministries, Luxottica Retail, Office Max, and Cohen Recycling. More than 500 Cintas employee-partners visited with the participating organizations to learn more about the ways that they can become better involved in individual and group recycling efforts that help the environment. “We plan the Green Fair each year to help our employee partners to become better aquainted with some of the local and regional recycling resources that are available for them and to assist them with both work and home environmental efforts,” said Melanie Boyle, Cintas representative and event coordinator. “Additionally, a purpose of the fair  is to emphasize the importance of being environmentally responsible in our everyday activities. Bringing some of these organizations together to share their mission with our staff helps to  focus on the benefits  that recycling has in everyone’s life,” added Boyle. As an environmental steward, Ohio Valley Goodwill  has long been involved in community recycling efforts and has represented  the organization at events that raise awareness of its mission to recycle clothing and household goods. For more than 97 years, Ohio Valley Goodwill has assisted the Greater Cincinnati region with its recycling efforts and offers donation centers and resale stores that help to keep items from the regional waste stream. “It’s always rewarding to participate in events like this because it helps to make many more individuals even more aware of how the Goodwill mission helps to assist the environment and with recycling in general, ” said George Palmer, Goodwill’s PR and Marketing Director.
