Goodwill’s Reds spirit was proudly on display as a group of more than 10 of the organization’s team members participated in the 2011 Reds Opening Day Parade on March 31st. Despite chilly temperatures, the marchers were thrilled to be part of this year’s official annual celebration of Spring. Goodwill’s group members were excited to meet Reds mascots and pose for photos as well as to partner with friends from Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services (HCDDS). “Being part of the Reds Opening Day Parade is something we look forward to every Spring,” said Katie Weitmarschen, Community Preparation Program Manager. “It gives us an opportunity to be part of an historic Cincinnati tradition that thousands of people participate in every year,” added Weitmarschen. Ohio Valley Goodwill promotes involvement and participation in community events as an integral part of its programs and services for adults with disabilities. The organization was especially thrilled to march in this year’s parade in celebration of its 95th Anniversary of service to the Greater Cincinnati area. Go Reds!
