Ohio Valley Goodwill is pleased to once again be a major sponsor for the upcoming 2017 Transition Bootcamp taking place on October 28th at the Sharonville Convention Center. Transition Bootcamp is a one-day conference for parents/caregivers, family members, educators and other professionals working with youth/young adults who have developmental disabilities who are interested in transition preparation from high school to adult life. It is followed up with multiple in-depth booster sessions on transition topics throughout the year. The Transition Bootcamp conference and vendor fair helps families and educators better prepare for the many transitions that youth experience when moving from school to community work and life.
The planning committee for the annual one day conference includes Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries and consists of staff from many community agencies, county boards of DD Services, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the Cincinnati University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.
In addition to the many informative sessions being offered throughout the one day conference, the 2017 Transition Bootcamp will also offer a vendor fair where attendees can connect with various service providers; recreation programs; educational options as well as transportation agencies.
Ohio Valley Goodwill has consistently been an exhibitor at the Bootcamp vendor fair event and this year is excited to announce that one of its team members, Rich Halter, Job Coaching Supervisor, as a co-presenter of the session ” Creating a Meaningful Day in the Community: Options for Fulfillment Outside of Community Employment.”
Ohio Valley Goodwill is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the 2017 Transition Boot Camp event and looks forward to the conference on October 27th.
