Ohio Valley Goodwill’s transportation team was very busy on the morning of Wednesday, May 10th, organizing four Goodwill trailers that will be used throughout the ShareFest 2017 community donation drive in the city of Oxford from May 10th through May 16th. This is the third year that Ohio Valley Goodwill has been a major sponsor of the community wide event in partnership with the City of Oxford, Miami University and local non-profit agencies. For the second year, ” Donation Central” for ShareFest will be located at the Chestnut Fields HQ in downtown Oxford.
The mission of ShareFest is as a service and environmental nonprofit corporation dedicated to the collection and redistribution of items donated by Miami University students and the Oxford community at the end of the academic year. Collected items are shared with local human service organizations and recycled responsibly as appropriate. This year’s beneficiary groups include: Butler County Success, The Family Resource Center, Oxford Community Choice Pantry, Greater Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity, Butler County Children Services, Lighthouse Pantry and Ohio Valley Goodwill. The Student Veterans Association at Miami University will provide volunteer support for this year’s donation event.
Throughout the week-long ShareFest donation drive event, Goodwill team members will be on hand to help collect, separate and sort donations which will ultimately be used by partner non-profit agencies in support of their respective missions. Food items collected will go to the Lighthouse and Community Choice Pantry, furniture and textiles to Habitat for Humanity, clothing to Butler County Children Services and more. “Goodwill is proud to help sponsor and support the annual ShareFest donation drive which is dedicated to responsible recycling and re-use of donated items to benefit citizens in the Butler County area,” said Jeff Eastham, Goodwill Operations Director.
