Saturday, March 15th marked the official launch of the county-wide Levy Sign distribution effort in support of Goodwill partner, Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services. More than 2400 signs were made available to HCDDS volunteers, community members and supporters through eight of Goodwill store locations including Beechmont, Tri-County, Cheviot, Harrison, Loveland, Montgomery, Mt. Washington and Oakley. The effort was facilitated through the teamwork of Ohio Valley Goodwill’s retail, donation, marketing and transportation departments working in collaboration with campaign coordinators through Hamilton County DD Services.
The two organizations have worked in partnership for more than 30 years in providing services to thousands of adults with disabilities in Hamilton County and the 2014 Levy Campaign represents more than 72% of the funding that the Board needs over the next 5 years to continue to provide essential programs to Hamilton County residents. Through generous community support, Hamilton County DD Services is able to offer a comprehensive array of vital services including educational, vocational, residential, case management and respite assistance. These services help almost 10,000 individuals and families in our community.
Ohio Valley Goodwill is pleased to be able to offer its assistance in helping in the Levy education and outreach efforts and is currently promoting a series of videos created by Public Information Officer Michael Flannery in this effort. One of the recent videos can be viewed here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SQbb11-GUo&feature=youtu.be
In addition, Goodwill team members will be joining with other community supporters and advocates in providing presentations to civic groups and community associations in order to get the word out about the importance of the 2014 HCDDS Levy campaign and voting “Yes” on Issue 3 on May 6th! Thank you Greater Cincinnati for making the commitment to vote “Yes” on Issue 3 to help thousands of our friends and neighbors in Hamilton County.
