Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Employment and Veterans Services team members were pleased to be a featured exhibitor at an Open House event hosted by the Employers Resource Association. Promoted as the “Diversity Recruiting Resource Open House,” the event was held to help employers to connect with employment agencies that serve a diverse workforce. Ohio Valley Goodwill has been providing services to individuals with disabilities and our nation’s veterans since 1916 and was delighted to have the opportunity to share information about how the organization can assist employers to meet their employment needs. Recently, legislation was passed which requires employers that are federal contractors to work with the Government to set benchmark and goals for the employment of qualified Veterans and individuals with disabilities within their operations.
During the afternoon Open House event, Ohio Valley Goodwill team members, Aimee Rittner, Asst. Director of Community-Based Services, Matt Brunheimer, Placement Specialist, Christie Watts and Evan Hennessy, Veterans Services talked with interested employers about how the organization could assist them in meeting their employment needs. “We are happy to have been invited to be a part of this important Employers Resource Association Open House event,” said Aimee Rittner, Asst. Director of Community-Based Services. “We are very proud of our almost 100 year history of helping people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans to get jobs in the community and are pleased to have the opportunity to help employers recruit employees that will fulfill their workforce needs,” added Rittner.
