Ohio Valley Goodwill was delighted to join with other local service provider agencies as an exhibitor at the 2019 Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services Provider Fair on Friday, October 11th. Held at Fairfax School the annual event is an opportunity for HCDDS staff team members along with families and individuals to find out about all of the available services in the Hamilton County area. Goodwill Marketing Director, Sharon Hannon, was on hand to share information about the organization’s array of programs available for individuals with disabilities. In particular, information about Goodwill’s Center for Advocacy, Recreation and Education (CARE) program, New Transition Services for Youth and Employment Services were showcased. Many attendees were very interested to learn about the organization’s new Transition Services in particular. Ohio Valley Goodwill has also been working closely with long-time partner HCDDS in supporting their 2019 Levy campaign which is on the ballot on November 5th. A member of the planning committee and Grassroots team, Goodwill has been helping with community outreach efforts including yard sale distribution, speaking opportunities, social media supports and will soon be sponsoring Honk and Waves and volunteering as poll workers on Election Day. The Issue 21 renewal levy provides 78% of the funding HCDDS needs in order to serve more than 7800 children and adults annually and is only renewed every five years.
