Thursday, October 24th marked the date of the 2013 Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities Provider Fair event held at the Miami University, Hamilton Campus. The annual event is designed to provide information about service provider agencies and program options for individuals with disabilities in Butler County. Ohio Valley Goodwill has been a sponsor and long-time exhibitor for this annual community educational outreach effort. Goodwill representative Ranaye Hampton, Program Coordinator, had the opportunity to speak with 2013 Fair attendees about the many programs that the organization is able to provide including skills training, support for activities of daily living, recreation options, as well as job placement assistance among others. ” We think it’s very important to help families, teachers, students and other interested people to get as much information as possible as they plan for their futures,” said Hampton. The morning-long event was attended by individuals participating in Project Life and local school districts as well as families looking for information about services following graduation from high school. Ohio Valley Goodwill has worked in partnership with the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities for the past 11 years on providing programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in Butler County.
