Ohio Valley Goodwill was excited to be a co-sponsor of the 2013 CARA Fall fund-raiser, “Sip’Cinnati” which took place during the evening of Saturday, October 12th. Hosted by CARA partner, Amy Linz, Co-Executive Director of Catholic Residential Services (CRS), the fun-filled event featured live music provided by local musicians Mark Macomber and Mike Mullee, samplings of Cincinnati wines and beers and the gracious expertise of celebrity bartender, Jamie Steele, Executive Director of Ohio Valley Residential Services (OVRS). The CARA group (Community Ambassadors Resource Alliance) is composed of 15 partner organizations whose mission is to raise awareness and funds to enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Goodwill is a founding partner of the CARA group. The festive evening was made perfect by the Indian Summer-like temperatures, the delicious gourmet appetizers created by hostess Amy Linz, the welcoming hospitality of the entire Linz family and the enthusiastic participation of the honored guests and CARA supporters. “CARA could not be more pleased with the success of the Fall event, “Sip’Cinnati,” said Debbie Moorehous, CARA Executive Director. “We are so grateful to the Linz family and all of our wonderful volunteers for their sponsorship and support of this annual event.” The evening’s guest list included representatives from the CARA partner agencies, local residents and friends, as well as the members of the Linz family. Everyone enjoyed the stellar performances of featured musicians Mark Macomber and Mike Mullee as well as the surprise efforts of hostess Amy Linz, celebrity bartender Jamie Steele and guests, Ken and Karen Peck. As a co-sponsor of the Fall fund-raiser, Ohio Valley Goodwill was very glad to learn that this year’s first-time theme event was very successful for the CARA group. “We are very pleased that CARA will have funds now to provide scholarships through the holiday season,” said Sharon Hannon, Goodwill Marketing Specialist.
