In its longtime tradition, Ohio Valley Goodwill was pleased to officially celebrate the Holiday season with all members of its organizational team including staff and program participants on Tuesday, December 19th. More than 300 special festive meals were served to Goodwill team members along with an assortment of delicious desserts. Entertainment was provided by local DJ, “Spicy Noodle,” and attendees enjoyed listening to the holiday-themed music. Additionally, all team members received a warm sweatshirt as a gift to keep them cozy this winter season.
“Goodwill is so glad to be able to provide this annual holiday tradition for all of our team members,” said President and CEO, Mark Hiemstra. “It is an opportunity to celebrate each other as well as this special season.”
The organization’s Volunteer Service Guild was also very generous in their gift-giving for the year providing $3,000 for the Veterans program, $1000 for the program participants in its Pre-Vocational program and $1000 for the CARE (Center for Advocacy, Recreation and Education) program members. The Guild raises the funds for these annual gifts through its Treasure Island Gift Shop located in the organization’s Tri-County store. “We are always so grateful for the generous support of the Service Guild who work so hard to provide a generous offering to our program participants,” said Susie Skeens, Grants Director.
