In its annual tradition, Ohio Valley Goodwill kicked off the season in its usual festive style by hosting a holiday luncheon for all its program participants and staff team members on Wednesday, December 10th. The organization’s volunteer Service Guild coordinates the holiday luncheon event which includes not only a delicious meal with all of the perfect seasonal trimmings but also entertainment provided by local musician and long-time Goodwill volunteer, Mark Macomber.
More than 800 individuals participated in this year’s holiday luncheon event which is always highlighted by the singing and dancing of attendees as they joyfully chime in on their favorite Christmas carols. Held in the organization’s headquarters cafeteria, the luncheon is prepared by Goodwill’s Food Services training team which pulls out all the stops to make sure that the meal is enjoyed by everyone in attendance. “It really is a labor of love for us during the holiday season,” said Kelly Manns, Assistant Director of Training Services. “It makes it all worth it just to see all of the smiles on everyone’s faces during this very special event.”
Ohio Valley Goodwill looks forward to the festive holiday event every year and is grateful to the organization’s volunteer Service Guild for their support and generous sponsorship. Today’s holiday luncheon is just the beginning of the celebratory events scheduled for later today and this week. Tonight, Ohio Valley Goodwill will once again proudly host the 2014 Homeless Awareness Dinner event in partnership with the Sharonville Convention Center. Stay tuned for more holiday news updates!
