Each year, the first week in May is the occasion for the official celebration of National Goodwill week. This year, May 3rd-May 8th is dedicated to recognizing Goodwill’s history of service to the community. For more than 94 years, Ohio Valley Goodwill has been providing job training programs and community-based services to people in Greater Cincinnati. As we commemorate Goodwill Industries Week, Ohio Valley Goodwill seeks your donations of gently used clothing and household goods so we can continue to help those most in need in our local communities. Your donated items are sold in our retail stores and the revenues fund Goodwill’s job training programs, employment placement services and other local services. Ohio Valley Goodwill helps more than 2300 individuals with disabilities and our nation’s veterans annually to receive these vital services. “Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries is proud to be able to serve the vocational needs and job support services of the many individuals that we serve each year and we appreciate the support that we receive from the Greater Cincinnati community that provides us the revenue to make these services available,” said Joe Byrum, Goodwill’s President and CEO. In 2009, Goodwill agencies in the U.S. and Canada used donations to create job training services that helped nearly 2 million people. This Goodwill Industries Week, we thank you for supporting our mission of helping people find jobs. With your donations, we will continue to help people who need it most in the Greater Cincinnati area.
