February 23rd marked the occasion of Ohio Valley Goodwill’s celebration of the 90th anniversary of the organization’s Goodwill Service Guild. The group of long-time volunteers has as their mission sharing the story of Goodwill and raising funds to support the organization’s work. The volunteer Service Guild is made up of 30 active members led by President Sue Burreson and the group plans and sponsors a number of annual events including the Fall and Spring Mini-Fests; a Veterans Luncheon; the PigAbilities event as well as operating the Treasure Island Gift Shop located in the Tri-County Goodwill store. Funds raised are used to sponsor birthday and holiday gift certificates for both program participants and employees as well as the organization’s overall mission of helping individuals with disabilities and our nation’s veterans to receive job training and employment services.

Mark Hiemstra, new President and CEO, remarked that he is so pleased that Ohio Valley Goodwill has the commitment of such an amazing team of volunteers and is grateful for their support. The Guild was presented with a special 90th Anniversary cake, a commemorative gift and a video presentation capturing highlights of their many years of service including their participation in the 100th Anniversary Goodwill Fashion Show in 2016. We congratulate the Goodwill Service Guild on their 90th Anniversary of service to Ohio Valley Goodwill.
