"Ohio Valley Goodwill Celebrates 2013 CARF Accreditation with a Four Star Fiesta!"

Thursday, June 27th marked the occasion of a Four Star Fiesta celebration of Ohio Valley Goodwill’s 4th consecutive CARF accreditation survey outcome with zero recommendations for improvement. The afternoon party was held at the organization’s corporate headquarters and was planned to acknowledge the hard work of its staff team members for the recent CARF accreditation survey. Goodwill has been an accredited organization through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for more than 35 years but the most recent survey marked the fourth consecutive three-year perfect accreditation outcome that the international accrediting body has awarded Goodwill. The CARF survey letter noted that Goodwill’s “achievement of four consecutive surveys with zero recommendations is rare and places it in a distinct group of organizations.” Ohio Valley Goodwill demonstrates “full conformance to the CARF standards, exemplifying impressive dedication and commitment to providing the highest quality services to address the needs of the community.” The Four Star Fiesta event launched a series of celebrations for both staff members and individuals served that will take place through Tuesday, July 2nd to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to be recognized for their commitment to Goodwill and its mission. Fiesta participants at the kick-off celebration were treated to a delicious Tex-Mex buffet featuring a menu that included Jalapeno Poppers, Chorizo in Enchilada Sauce, Make your own Taco/Taco Salad with Hot Cilantro Lime Chicken, Chili Beef, Corn/Black Bean Mix Fajita Topping, Fruit Tray, Churros, Bananas Foster Bites and Tres Leche Cake, all prepared under the direction of Goodwill Chef Alison McElfresh and the Food Services Team. Following Public Information Officer, Michael Flannery’s welcome, Jim Armour, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors congratulated the assembled team and introduced Dick Oestreich, Goodwill Grants Writer and Accreditation Consultant. Dick’s remarks included his personal knowledge of the unprecedented nature of the Four Star CARF Accreditation and the importance of the Goodwill team’s achievement. “On behalf of Ohio Valley Goodwill and the individuals we serve, I want to thank you so much for your dedication and commitment which so obviously, impressed the CARF survey team,” said Oestreich. “This is truly an accomplishment to be proud of and we thank you for your support.” For more information about the 2013 CARF survey outcome, please visit our website at http://www.cincinnatigoodwill.org/about/CARF_survey_report_2013.pdf.
