Ohio Valley Goodwill Announces 2022 Title Sponsor for PigAbilitiesÂ
For the sixth consecutive year, Ohio Valley Goodwill is delighted to announce that the organization will be the Title Sponsor of the 2022 PigAbilities event as part of the annual Flying Pig Marathon. The PigAbilities event this year will be the first time in two years, that an in-person event has taken place in downtown Cincinnati as part of the Flying Pig Marathon schedule of events, due to the health risks of the pandemic. PigAbilities is designed to welcome athletes of all abilities who wish to be fully included in the weekend events of the Flying Pig Marathon and represents the culmination of training efforts for months prior to the event.
” For the past six years, Ohio Valley Goodwill has taken great pride in its sponsorship of the PigAbilities event; which is designed to be fully accessible and welcoming to athletes of all abilities,” said Sharon Hannon, Goodwill Marketing Director. ” As an organization which provides employment and training for people with disabilities and is dedicated to community inclusion, Goodwill feels closely aligned with the Flying Pig Marathon and what it represents. It is especially exciting to return to an in-person event after two years of virtual events,” said Hannon.
Since the beginning of the New Year, Goodwill along with Pig Works, Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services and Paycor have been working together to try to get the word out about PigAbilities and ensure that all interested athletes have the ability to participate. This has included outreach efforts to increase participation as well as to offer assistance with registration, transportation and other related support needs. PigAbilities athletes typically participate in the event with the support of a coach they have been training with for months beforehand, working on fitness, nutrition and related health goals.
Goodwill will also be presenting its popular Pig Pop Up Shop on Friday, April 29th and Saturday, April 30th as a featured exhibitor during the Flying Pig Marathon Expo at the Duke Energy Center. The Pig Pop Up Shop will be stocked with an assortment of running and athleisure wear for all members of the family. Team Goodwill will be not only welcoming Expo goers to the Goodwill Pop Up Shop but also, participating in the weekend running events.
