For the 5th time in five years, Ohio Valley Goodwill is partnering with the historic Thanksgiving Day Race on the occasion of its 105th running, to sponsor Donation Stations at both the Start of the Race and Mile 2. Over the past five years as a result of this wonderful partnership, Goodwill has collected more than 20,000 lbs. of coats from the generous donors of Greater Cincinnati. These donations help Goodwill to put people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans to work in our community.
This year, Ohio Valley Goodwill’s team of enthusiastic volunteers will once again be stationed at the start of the race at Paul Brown Stadium and at Mile 2 and look forward to cheering on the Thanksgiving Day racers as they run past. This also gives heated runners the opportunity to strip off a layer in support of Goodwill as they race along the course. At Mile 2, runners will also enjoy the delightful musical performance of Goodwill volunteers, Mark Macomber and Michael Flannery, who will do their best to inspire the excited runners and walkers.
In honor of the 105th anniversary, Goodwill and the Thanksgiving Day Race are hoping to collect even more donations than ever in 2014. Please join thousands of other generous Greater Cincinnati runners this year and bring a donation for Goodwill to this year’s race”¦you’ll be glad you did. And at Goodwill, we are so thankful for you!
