“What an amazing business model,” said one of the many special guests that toured Ohio Valley Goodwill’s corporate headquarters on Tuesday, August 19th. The remark was spoken during a tour scheduled by Mike LaRosa for his business roundtable partners.
The group of 10 local employers spent more than an hour and a half touring the organization’s skill training classrooms, award-winning Center for Advocacy, Recreation and Education (CARE) program, as well as work training areas, production building and Tri-County store before sitting down to learn about Goodwill’s Employment Services department. Employment Services Supervisor, Matt Burnheimer explained all of the services provided to employers in helping potential employees to find jobs. In addition, the interested group learned about the many faceted offerings that Goodwill’s Industrial Services division is able to provide to employers in terms of fulfillment, assembly and packaging services. Goodwill team members George Palmer and Sharon Hannon from the organization’s Marketing department provided a comprehensive overview of Goodwill’s operations and impact on the local economy as well as populations served. “We were very pleased to welcome Mr. LaRosa and his associates to our corporate headquarters, ” said Palmer. “Several of our graduates are employed with LaRosa’s and we very much value their partnership,” added Palmer.
