Julie Isphording, Olympic Runner and Goodwill Donor. | On this Earth Day, It Might Surprise You What Julie Isphording Does When She’s Not Running”¦ When Olympic runner Julie Isphording, isn’t inspiring others through her speaking engagements, TV interviews, volunteer work, or directing the Thanksgiving Day 10k, she is doing something you might not expect. She, like thousands of other like-minded people in our community is making a difference by donating to Goodwill. |
Julie drops off items at Goodwill because she knows that something so easy can make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. Those donations will be re-used, renewed and recycled responsibly. Everything she donates will either be sold in one of Goodwill’s network of 15 stores or recycled. Even an old computer can be recycled by Goodwill through its partnership with the Dell Reconnect program. Even the smallest donations go toward supporting Goodwill’s mission of putting people to work in our community. People with disabilities and Veterans struggling to find work are helped through Goodwill’s skill training and employment services. Turning the celebration of Earth Day this year into “Donate Day” was an easy decision for Julie. “I know that when I donate to Goodwill, I am taking the time to recycle responsibly and that’s important- both for our planet and our community,” said Isphording. In Julie’s life, standing still is not an option. Even the smallest step is important. Please join Julie Isphording and run to your nearest Goodwill Donation Center with your stuff! Donations are desperately needed and that winning feeling on this Earth Day is just a step away. For a list of convenient Donation Centers, visit www.cincinnatigoodwill.org/donate. Watch for Julie and Goodwill to team up again for the 2013 Thanksgiving Day Race on November 28th! Meet you there!
