It’s Time for All Goodwill Team Members to FLY at the Flying Pig Marathon This Weekend!

Goodwill’s NEW Relay Team for 2019!

Ohio Valley Goodwill is more than excited to announce that for the first time since 2000, the organization will have a Relay Team who will be participating in the Flying Pig Marathon this year. Team members include: Jerry, Andy, Chris and Morgan- all of whom are friends and supporters of the organization. The four are dedicated runners and athletes and are psyched to represent Ohio Valley Goodwill during this year’s Marathon. Relay team member Jerry,  is a part of the Goodwill family through marriage. Wife Nancy is participating in five different Marathon events and is the Manager of the Loveland store. Our thanks to all for the enthusiasm and support of Ohio Valley Goodwill and our mission of service in the Greater Cincinnati community!

The 2019 Flying Pig Marathon promises to be an action-packed weekend filled with special events and celebrations including the PigAbilities event on Saturday, May 4th.    For the past five weeks, a team of determined athletes from the organization’s Center for Advocacy, Recreation and Education (CARE)   have been part of a training program in preparation for the 2019 PigAbilities event as part of the Flying Pig Marathon.   PigAbilities is an empowering option for athletes of all ages and abilities who want to commit to going the distance by making healthy choices in their lives. The PigAbilities event takes place when there are fewer crowds, increased accessibility and more parking. On Saturday, May 4th participants will gather for a 1:00 pm start time and walk, roll or stroll the final mile on the actual Flying Pig Marathon course. At the Finish Line each finisher will receive a PigAbilities medal to commemorate their achievement.

Team Goodwill Ready to Fly for PigAbilities 2019!

2019 will mark the third year that Ohio Valley Goodwill has committed to being the Title sponsor for the PigAbilities event and this year’s registrations have already surpassed last year’s totals with more than 300 athletes choosing to participate. More than 50 athletes supported by Ohio Valley Goodwill, including our new 2019 Relay Team will join together to ” fly” as part of this year’s Pigabilities and Marathon events.  There’s still time to register- but just barely- at www.flyingpigmarathon.com/pigabilities.
