Goodwill was founded on a passion for helping people achieve their dreams. Over 100 years ago, Rev. Edgar J. Helms envisioned a future where equal opportunities were available for everyone. He created a movement to help people in need break down barriers to employment, empowering them to reach their full potential and live purposeful lives through the power of work.
Helms’ dream has led to the formation of a network of Goodwills across the country focused on helping individuals with disabilities, our nation’s veterans and others facing barriers to employment develop their skills so they can secure meaningful employment and lead lives of dignity.
At Ohio Valley Goodwill, we’re pleased to provide a broad range of programs to serve a diverse set of individual and community needs. We offer career assessments, real work experience, and support the development of job seeking skills and soft skills. Our programs and services make it possible for individuals to train for, find, and keep meaningful jobs in the Greater Cincinnati area. In the past year alone, Ohio Valley Goodwill helped more than 3,400 individuals receive skill training, career development, job placement and life enrichment opportunities.
Thanks to the continued generosity and support of those who donate to Goodwill and shop at our stores, as well as our community partners, and employers, dreams become a reality each day. Every item donated to Goodwill or purchased from one of our stores helps us fulfill our mission to help people in need right here in our community. We’re grateful for your ongoing support of Goodwill ““ you help us help others!
