More than 15 members of Ohio Valley Goodwill’s staff team as well as program participants proudly marched along with long-time partner, the Hamilton County Board of MR/DD in the 2009 Harvest Home Parade. The annual event is attended by thousands of on-lookers and Goodwill was cheered along with the Hamilton County Board representatives as they completed the parade route. Goodwill’s new Westwood Work Training Center’s staff members and participants were prominently featured in this year’s event as well as members of it’s headquarters staff team. “We always enjoy participating in the Harvest Home event because it allows us not only to showcase our own services for individuals with disabilities but also for our nation’s veterans,” said Sharon Hannon, Marketing Specialist. Making the festivities even more meaningful was the fact that one of the Westwood marchers was celebrating the new community job he would be starting the following week. “Our slogan is we put people to work and in this case, it’s wonderful to see the result,” said Michelle Ruschmann, Westwood supervisor. The 2009 parade also served as an opportunity for the Westside community to see the support for the Hamilton County Board of MR/DD and their vital programs and services.
