Members of Team Goodwill were pleased to represent the organization in cheering on this year’s dancers at the 2015 Dancing for our Stars Gala on Saturday, November 14th. Held at the Savannah Center, Ohio Valley Goodwill was a Gold Sponsor for this year’s event which raised funds in support of the individuals served by the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Co-Hosts Bob Herzog, Local12 media personality and Teddy Kremer were also “stars” as they entertained the more than 200 guests with their humor and personal dance moves. Nine couples competed for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy. The winning couple this year was Jody Mann and Daniel Persson who wowed the excited audience with their version of “Old Time Rock and Roll.”
The entertaining evening was filled with stellar performances by all of this year’s participating couples and the on-going sound of the roulette wheel as guests spun for their chance to win “wine, shine or dine;” an additional fund-raising aspect of this year’s gala.
This year’s wonderful dancing partners included:
Stacy Abrams and Matthew Ellis
Tracy Boraz and Keith Banner
Mary Ramirez Cook and Kevin Smith
Candice Leary and Ted McGuire
Jody Mann and Daniel Persson
Angela Mason and Bob Duerr
Katie Maus and Jake Welch
Julie and Tony Yocco
Walter and Emily Zancan
Goodwill has worked in partnership with the Butler County Board of DD for many years, providing training and employment services for people that both agencies mutually serve. “It was a pleasure to be able to support the Butler County Board of DD and the many individuals that we serve in this fun way,” said Sharon Hannon, Marketing Manager and member of the planning team.
Ohio Valley Goodwill congratulates all of the 2015 dancing couples as well as the planning committee, “Friends of Citizens with Disabilities,” on the success of this year’s event. The Butler County Board will have an operating levy on the ballot in 2018 and funds raised will support the election campaign.
