While still officially summer, Ohio Valley Goodwill is busily planning for the Fall. The month of September is filled with community outreach events for which the organization is both a sponsor and an exhibitor.
The series of month-long events starts on Saturday, September 13th with the CARA Fall Fund-Raiser “A Harvest Moon Party.” Ohio Valley Goodwill is a founding member of the Community Ambassadors Resource Alliance (CARA) whose mission is to enrich the health and fitness lives of people with developmental disabilities. The Fall fund-raiser is being held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. John Linz and will feature live music, a celebrity guest bartender, a split the pot raffle and more. On September 19th, the 2014 Transition Boot Camp will take place from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Sharonville Convention Center and will offer a host of topics of interest to families, teachers and professionals about life following high school for students with developmental disabilities. The evening of Saturday, September 20th will mark the occasion of the first-ever “Clermont’s Got Talent” show in support of Goodwill partner, the Clermont County Board of DD. It will also be the debut of the “3-D Trio,” featuring a Goodwill team member and two volunteers. The trio is composed of Paula Smith, Eastside supervisor, Mark Macomber, Goodwill long-time volunteer and musician and a soon-to-be announced special guest.
