Saturday, March 2nd marked the 4th annual “Dancing with the Stars” event in support of the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the debut of Goodwill’s own dancing stars, Todd and Julie Schreiber. The couple had been practicing hard for the past several months perfecting their routine for the prestigious gala and were anxious to show off what they had learned. Mentored by dance instructors from the “Dance Club” studio in Anderson Township, the couple performed a swing dance to the strains of music by “Cher.” To the delight of the hundreds of assembled guests and Goodwill supporters, the Schreiber’s received a perfect score of “30” and were complimented on their “visible connection” to one another which made their dance even more engaging. The Goodwill team was one of 8 couples that worked together to perform at the “Dancing with our Stars” event this year which helped to raise money for the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ respite program. This vital service provides much-needed breaks for families of individuals with disabilities who just need a little time to recharge and relax. Goodwill has worked in partnership with the Clermont County Board of DD for several years on a collaborative effort to provide work training opportunities for the individuals that the Board serves both in the organization’s Eastside Vocational Services Center as well as through its community-based setting at its Beechmont store location. This precedent-setting program allows people who reside in both Clermont and the East side of Hamilton County to access Goodwill services through partnerships with both Clermont and Hamilton County Boards of DD. “We wanted to do what we could to support the efforts of the Clermont County Board and of course, the individuals we mutually support,” said Todd and Julie Schreiber. Ohio Valley Goodwill congratulates Todd and Julie on their outstanding performance and dedication to Goodwill’s mission of service.
