Hard to believe but it’s only a few weeks away from this year’s Queen Bee Half Marathon and Expo. As a Royal sponsor of the 2017 event, Goodwill’s team of worker bees are buzzing away putting the final details together for the debut of the very popular and newly expanded ” Bee-Tique” at the Expo on Friday, October 6th! The Bee-Tique will feature an assortment of running gear at unbeatable prices as well as the buzz-worthy and oh so fun, ” Selfie” station right next door.
Also, for the first time, Ohio Valley Goodwill is very excited to announce that the organization’s team of ” New Bees” will be joining the festivities this year. The team members are made up of individuals who participate in Goodwill’s Community Access program and their coaches. The ten member team are currently busy training for their first-ever flight in the Queen Bee 4 Mile event. Goodwill’s Community Access program is designed to provide social and recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities and is one of many programs offered by the organization. ” The ” New Bees” are all abuzz about their big debut at this year’s Queen Bee race,” said Chelsea Combs, Goodwill Team Coach.
This year’s Queen Bee looks forward to more than 5500 participants and all will have a chance to visit the Expo and the Goodwill Bee-Tique on Friday, October 6th. Busy bees should fly by the Goodwill exhibit booth to find out how to win a luxurious spa pampering basket truly fit for a Queen. Hint: If you’re a “˜good bee’ you can bring a donation and receive a chance to win a bee-u-ti-ful spa pampering basket. The lucky winner will be announced Saturday, October 7th at the post-race party.
Finally, Goodwill will be tweeting all of the exciting Expo and Queen Bee race highlights at #goodbee.
