Ohio Valley Goodwill was thrilled to learn that long-time organizational spokesman and board member, Joe Walter, was selected for recognition at the upcoming 2016 Medical Mutual Community Pillar Awards. Presented by Smart Business magazine, the Pillar Awards were created to honor businesses and individuals dedicated to making Cincinnati and the Northern Kentucky region a better place to live. The award program is designed to demonstrate the tie between the for-profit and non-profit worlds and showcase best practices.
Joe Walter has served in the capacities of honorary chairman, spokesman, volunteer, advocate and board member for Ohio Valley Goodwill for the past 15 years. His tireless support and dedication to the Goodwill mission have helped to grow the Auto Auction Donation program which helps to raise funds for the organization’s programs and services, to become one of the leading non-profit operations of its type nationally. In addition his invaluable guidance and time commitment to the annual Goodwill Golf Outing has helped to raise more than $390,000 in funds since its inception in 2001. The monies from both of these ventures help to support Goodwill’s skill training and employment programs for individuals with disabilities and our nation’s veterans.Walter will be officially recognized at the 2016 Medical Mutual Pillar Award ceremony being held January 14th at the Duke Energy Center in the category of “Nonprofit Board Executive of the Year.” In past years, Goodwill President and CEO, Joe Byrum and Board of directors member Dennis Barron, were selected for recognition by Smart Business and Medical Mutual.
Our most sincere congratulations to Mr. Joe Walter on being selected for this prestigious recognition.
