Ohio Valley Goodwill was pleased to be an attendee and supporter of the 2019 Job Fair sponsored by Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. The 2019 event was held at Sharonville Convention Center and welcomed more than 60 employers to the seventh annual event on October 2nd. More than 200 excited job seekers were on hand to present themselves to prospective employers and apply for open positions. ” Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities is very pleased to sponsor this important annual Job Fair to help match individuals looking for employment with area employers,” said Mark Fay, OOD Southwest Ohio Regional Manager. ” We are grateful to Goodwill and our other employers and partners for their support and participation,” added Fay. Goodwill provided van shuttle transportation for job seekers to the Convention Center as well as serving as the host location for the Job Seeking Skills Training event held prior to the Job Fair each year. Importantly, OOD sponsors the annual Job Fair during the celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (|NDEAM) which takes place in October.
Goodwill Community Services team members were busy supporting job-seekers as they applied for the many position openings available. ” Goodwill is grateful to Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities for their coordination of the Job Fair which offers a wonderful opportunity for job seekers to introduce themselves to potential new employers who are eager to fill their workforce needs with reliable employees,” said Chelsea Combs, Asst. Director of Community Services. Job Seekers like Loren Reynolds and David Calhoun, were on hand with Bethany Angst, Goodwill Employment Specialist, to talk with employers and submit their resumes for potential job openings. Goodwill Employment Services team members were busy supporting interested applicants throughout the OOD event.
