With Thanksgiving almost here, we’re taking a step back to express our gratitude this season at Ohio Valley Goodwill. We have plenty of reasons to give thanks, especially for the many donors, shoppers, and community partners who help us live out our mission every day. As we all know, 2020 has been the most challenging year we have ever experienced and certainly, the most difficult in our 104 year old organizational history. At the heart of Goodwill is our commitment to providing job training and meaningful employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities. We know that a job is about more than a paycheck; it promotes confidence, independence, and community belonging. That’s why we’re proud to offer an array of services for individuals with disabilities seeking a job, including skills training, job placement, coaching, and worksite support. We’re so grateful to be able to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of community members each year. Create pathways to success for veterans
Ohio Valley Goodwill is honored to support our nation’s veterans and help them rejoin their home communities as fully integrated members by participating in Cincinnati’s Homeless Veterans Reintegration Projects (HVRP). This program provides assistance with career planning, job placement, and finding safe, affordable housing. We’re thankful for the opportunity to serve those who have served our country.

Provide affordable shopping options to our neighbors
Ohio Valley Goodwill’s network of retail stores offers an affordable shopping option for our community. From name-brand apparel for the entire family to household goods, books, games, accessories, and more, there’s no shortage of savings to be found at Ohio Valley Goodwill. Our innovative donation-resale model allows us to keep prices low so our shoppers can get more for less. Best of all, our retail stores generate revenue for Goodwill’s vocational programs and services for individuals with disabilities and veterans, helping them go to work in the community.

Protect our planet one donation at a time
Not only does shopping at Goodwill help individuals with disabilities and our nation’s veterans, but it also keeps many worthwhile clothes, home décor, and other goods out of our local landfills, where they can take months or even years to fully break down. When you shop at or donate to Goodwill, you’re giving reusable items a new life and helping our planet remain beautiful for years to come. Last year alone, Ohio Valley Goodwill was able to recycle more than 52 million pounds of donated material, diverting them from area landfills. Thanks to our generous donors and savvy shoppers for your commitment to recycling responsibly and reusing goods!
