Now that the holiday season is officially upon us and we are preparing for 2020, it really is a great time to think about de-cluttering. As has become a wonderful tradition, December 31st is always the busiest day of the year for Ohio Valley Goodwill as the organization’s generous donors rush to get their last-minute donations dropped off before the end of the year. The busy day marks the last day that donors can get a tax receipt for their donations for the 2019 tax year.
” Our Goodwill donation teams are always ready and waiting during this time of year as Greater Cincinnatians prepare for the New Year by cleaning out and de-cluttering. Their generous donations have enabled Ohio Valley Goodwill to provide employment and training services for people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans for more than 100 years,” said Jeff Eastham, Operations Director.
Donations received on New Year’s Eve provide a head start on getting the inventory needed to fully stock the organization’s network of 18 retail stores for the beginning of the New Year. Proceeds raised from retail sales are used to support the organization’s mission of helping more than 3500 people in the Greater Cincinnati area annually and last year, assisting almost a thousand to get jobs in the community.
