Ohio Valley Goodwill is dedicated to using donations to improve Cincinnati. This Spring, we are taking those efforts out of the streets and into the home with our #7DaysOfSpringCleaning campaign. Donating to Goodwill creates jobs in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, but now we’re also helping donors create clean and fresh spaces in their homes. The top dogs of donations in Cincinnati have come together to offer seven days of tips on what to donate and why. Today is day number three.
Everybody knows that one person who leaves their Christmas lights up until the 4th of July. If you are that person: we are sorry, but you should know “” people are starting to talk. There is however, another type of holiday hoarder who could do even more good for their community than these decorative delayers. Those of us storing boxes of holiday decorations are sitting on a basement full of opportunity. Ohio Valley Goodwill can turn that holiday heap into quality jobs for Cincinnati communities. Take time today to go through your old decorations, and remember that the true joy of any holiday is celebrating with friends and family. You don’t have to celebrate Christmas to appreciate this sage Seussian revelation, as told by The Grinch:
It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.
