Charitable Donations Make an Impact at Cincinnati Goodwill Donation Locations
While Ohio Valley Goodwill’s network of retail stores has long been a thrift shopper’s paradise, the items in our resale stores go way beyond the ordinary. Generations of Ohio Valley residents have combed our shelves, revealing treasures of all kinds, but the truly extraordinary thing about shopping at Ohio Valley Goodwill stores is the impact your donations and purchases have on the lives of others.
Unlike for-profit consignment shops, Ohio Valley Goodwill doesn’t only exist to make money. Instead, we follow a ” second bottom line” measured by the amount of good we are doing in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. The five dollars you spend on a new jacket from one of our thrift shops can be transformed into job skill training for new high school graduates, help for homeless veterans or affordable janitorial services for a local business. Though many people know us for our great deals on unique items, Ohio Valley Goodwill has a vast behind-the-scenes impact on communities across Southwest Ohio. Each year, thanks to the generous support of our donors and shoppers, Ohio Valley Goodwill helps thousands of individuals with disabilities and our nation’s veterans receive skill training and get jobs in the Greater Cincinnati community. Keeping those services going strong is the true purpose of Ohio Valley Goodwill; a purpose we have faithfully served for nearly a century.
We cannot do this important work alone, however. When you donate clothing, donate furniture, donate electronics or anything else to Ohio Valley Goodwill, you give us the tools we need to keep building strong communities around Cincinnati. We also need your help in passing the critical Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services Levy on May 6th. Through its partnership with Hamilton County DD Services, Ohio Valley Goodwill serves more than 700 people a year and knows the critical importance of the services they provide for almost 10,000 families in the Greater Cincinnati area.
