It’s voting season in the Tri-State! Election Day is just around the corner on Tuesday, November 5th, and your vote counts. You might think that some elections are more important than others, but all elections matter and make an impact. Voting is one of the most powerful ways to make your voice heard, and participating in local elections allows you to influence decisions that make a difference for you and others in your community.
If you want to cast your vote this November, here are some things to remember:
Check your registration
First things first: To vote in the upcoming election, you’ll need to be registered. Check your registration status here. If you haven’t voted in a while, your registration might have been removed for being inactive. The registration date for the November 5th election has already passed, but you can still get registered for the next election. You can even sign up for election reminders so you never miss important dates again.
See what’s on your ballot
Be an informed voter! Check out a voters’ guide to see who and what will be on your local ballot. Where do candidates in your area stand on the issues that matter to you? What important measures are on your ballot? Using a voters’ guide will help you decide how you will plan to vote on Election Day.
Find your polling place
Where can you vote in person? Voters are assigned a polling location based on their residence. Be sure to look up your designated polling place and the hours before Election Day.
Let your voice be heard
Now you’re ready to vote and make your voice heard! Exercising your right to vote in local and national elections is key to strengthening our democracy. Give yourself a pat on the back for voting and encourage your friends and family members to turn out to the polls and vote, too!
If you live in Hamilton County, Ohio Valley Goodwill encourages you to vote YES on Issue 21 on November 5th! A vote FOR Issue 21 renews the existing levy, so it won’t raise taxes. A vote for Issue 21 is a vote to help thousands of people live, work, learn, and fully participate in their communities.
