On Sunday, April 26th, for the second year in a row, Ohio Valley Goodwill will be hosting an Earth Day Electronic Recycling Celebration. From 11am until 5pm, donations of computers, laptops, keyboards, monitors and other electronic equipment will be gratefully accepted at ALL 29 Goodwill Donation locations!
Working in partnership with Global Environmental Services (GES); an e-steward certified recycling vendor; Goodwill is hoping to collect 60,000 lbs. of donations in this year’s drive. During the 2014 Earth Day Donation event, Goodwill collected more than 20,000 lbs. in just its headquarters location in the village of Woodlawn.
” It’s important for our generous donors to know that Ohio Valley Goodwill accepts donations of computers and other electronic equipment everyday at all 29 of our Donation Centers,” said Jeff Eastham, Operations Manager. ” The Earth Day event is held just to raise awareness about Goodwill’s commitment to recycling of all types but specifically in this case, computers and related electronic equipment.”
Last year, Ohio Valley Goodwill recycled more than 43,000,000 lbs. of donated materials, diverting them from area landfills. The organization received the 2014 Hamilton County Recycling award for ” Excellence in Re-Use” as well. ” We want our donors to know that when you choose to donate to Goodwill, you are choosing to recycle responsibly,” explained Eastham.
